The Legacy of the Prince Philip - Shorts

The Legacy of Prince Philip - Shorts
So I was heading home from the nearby mall when my phone lit up with royal news. Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh better known as the husband of Queen Elizabeth II has died at Windsor Castle at the old age of 99. I mean that guy lived a long and well-lived life. And he has become a huge part of the royal family. Born in 1921 in Greece and then served the British Army before marrying into royalty in 1947, he had a few nice children and has been quite a big figure especially on holidays and journeys with Queen Elizabeth. Who knows what legacy he will take on? Just another royal family member or one of a kind? The last time we saw him publicly was probably that picture he took on his 99th birthday last year with him and Queen Elizabeth standing in greenery. Looking through much of his photos and images, I'd say he took on a more regimental impression than a royal one. Most of his pictures are him in military uniform (which looks cool though) while only a handful are suit and ties. Anyways, he lived a wonderful life both in combat and royalty.

Which brings me to my next point. Currently the Royal Family is in a bit of a weird state, especially with the whole Harry & Meghan affair, so with the death of Prince Harry's grandfather, what's next? Where does the royal family go from there? Is this a warning to show the subsequent breakup of the royal family or a sign to show the unity of it? One thing's for sure as of now, thr royal family is still popular amongst the people of Britain.

Which brings me to my second point. Of the list of countries who did miserably at controlling the virus, the United Kingdom fairs pretty high on that list. Will Prince Philip's death be a wake-up call? To bring a wounded nation together? I think, of course it will! The British love their Royal Family! (I think, I'm not British). Anyway, my condolences to the Royal Family and to anyone affected by his death.

Happy Reading!
