Panther Breakout: One Year On - Shorts
Panther Breakout: One Year On - Shorts
On the 31st of March, 2020 at roughly 2 in the morning, in the city of Nortroo, laid the famous Nortroo Zoo, which due to an internal error, a huge group of Black Panthers had escaped and trashed the city killing hundreds. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Ghotya immediately issued a nationwide announcement. This was the story of the now infamous Panther Breakout which killed around 800 and injured more than 7000.
The Panthers spread and the country was infested. All international trade ceased and all citizens went into hideouts. The United Nations was in panic and launched a global operation to take back Ghotya. But the panthers spread and made its way outwards to nearby Desjolk, the neighbouring country. All countries nearby went into full-scale lockdown. Prime Minister of Ghotya, Mr. Yutave Apoblam was found dead in his bunker. Democracy in Ghotya had collapsed. After more information was collected, it found that roughly 12 panthers escaped and thanks to the infested wilderness, the panthers amounted to 2,500 with roughly 23,000 deaths. In the end, a decision was made by the United States, to detonate a nuclear bomb on Ghotya to stop the further spread of panthers, that plan failed and the panthers resisted.
The panthers spread and finally, the United Nations got together with 58,000 men and went into full-scale attack mode. But the men were no match for the panthers and were wiped out completely along with $3 Billion in funding. Now with a death toll of 76,000 and with hospitals which were already suffering from a Pandemic, now overwhelmed completely with attacks from Panthers. After 9 months of continued attack, the last of the panthers were rounded up and killed. Ghotya and the neighbouring countries of Desjolk, Abrelfol and Abrelfurht were freed and with deaths amounting to 83,000, civilisation continued along just as it does today.
So how did we never hear about this breakout? That is because we were so focused on a Pandemic that has killed millions. Ghotya had shut down and imposed measures for COVID-19. In total, Ghotya was only brushed by the Pandemic because it clearly had more important things to do. The panther breakout was only prominent in South-west Africa and never spread anywhere else. But the Panther Breakout still left many displaced, killed, injured and stuck in poverty. And yet we believe that everything is real on the news, except this one...
Happy April Fools Day and Happy Reading!!
Sorry this came out a day late...
I hope you enjoyed this fake story. The 2020 Panther Breakout story was suggested by a good friend of mine. The names of people and countries are all loosely based of actual words.
Nortroo = Not True
Ghotya = Got Ya!
Desjolk = The Joke
Mr. Yutave Apoblam = Mr. You Have A Problem
Abrelfol = April Fools
Abrelfurht = April Fools (again)
