Farren's Opinion Corner: The Improved Introduction

Farren's Opinion Corner: The Improved Introduction
This introduction is an updated one from the original introduction. However, some information from the original introduction article is outdated so I created this improved version. This includes updated information along with editing questions under FAQs and better formation of grammar as well. Happy Reading the original article can be found in the 'Update' label.

Welcome to Farren's Opinion Corner. A blog all about my opinions and feelings on different world topics. Before beginning, I'd like to introduce myself and give a brief description on this blog and opinions and why it matters in our overworked and overstressed world.

Introduction: All about Myself
Hello Internet and World! My name is Farren and I am born and raised in Singapore and I am currently 13 years old (as of 2021). Now before you leave my small corner realising I am 13, allow me to explain more about me. I have always been interested or had a flare in writing and blogging. In Primary School as part of my Scout Unit, I was a scribe for my school's Scout Blog and have been part of other Cyber Wellness relations writing scripts and presentation as well.

Finally, this is a public blog but I will assume that most of my viewers will come from Singapore so if there are any 'Singaporism' in my writing, please forgive me. And if you are a non-singaporean viewer, hello to you too! The internet has more than 1.5 billion articles and I am glad you landed on mine. Please comment if you aren't Singaporean.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
    1) Will there be a schedule for your blog?

A: No. But I can guarantee an article every month. Usually, it will be my interest to write about a certain topic. However, if I do have tests or examinations, I will have a shorter version of a blog called Opinion Corner Shorts which takes shorter to write and research in all.

    2) What will you be posting about?

A: I will be posting all about my opinions on different topics and news stories that interest me or topics others want me to write on. However, you can comment on the latest article to suggest a topic. I also have a second blog called Farren's Personal Corner so go check that out as well although I don't have anything there as of now.

    3) Do you have other Social Media Pages?
A: No. I know in this modern world, it is common for even a 10-year old to post about their feelings on Instagram and Facebook and Twitter etc. but I think social media is getting increasingly worrying for our civilisation. People rely on not real facial expressions but yellow-skinned emoji creatures to show their feelings and emotions. However, you can chat with me using the comment section in the latest article and I'd love to answer your questions.

The Importance of Opinions
According to The Oxford Dictionary, the word Opinion is the beliefs or views of a group of people and the feelings or thoughts you express to someone or something, rather than a fact.

For all if not most of our time on Earth as humans, opinions have been very important in how we express our emotions and feelings towards others and the real world. Opinions especially affect certain topics such as religion, race and politics. In fact, even the smallest of opinions differences can impact and create huge arguments and fights. One of my favourite example is probably the American Civil War (1861-1865). Because of a certain touchy subject, slavery. Caused a new nation to break from the union and left around 800,000 people dead. Opinions though can even cause not just a change in our mood but changes in our actions. We might tend to behave in a different way because we did not get what we wanted (I am sure everyone has felt that)

The Good, The Bad and The Blog
This section of this article will be dedicated to the layout and how I want this blog to come out.

Firstly, I will begin by writing about the basic overview of the subject. (i.e. The broad overview) and to give you a bit of context before the opinion part comes into play. As this will be a blog about news stories, there will be follow-ups depending on how the story evolves.

Secondly, will be my Opinions. What I like/do not like. What I hope/do not hope. My thoughts and my feelings and the whole shebang. This is the section where I could lose half of my readers and gain around half of my readers. And this is probably the nitty gritty of my blog.

Thirdly, I will list down the various sources on where I got information for fact-checking purposes. This will help you the reader learn more about the topic itself.

Well, that's about it internet. Happy Reading and Thank You for ending up on my website. Go check out other popular articles down below.

Happy Reading!
