Let's Remember - January 2021

Let's Remember: January 2021   January. The most chaotic way to start a hopeful year (crossing my hands). 2021 has started off with a bang! From Inauguration to Storming the Capitol , from COVID-19 vaccines to State of Emergencies . Let's Remember: January 2021. New Year's...Again...(January 1)     Welcome back. Same things till we have to this every year. New Year's is very different to many people. Some people thinks its just a thing we have to do each year, some people go all crazy about it. But this year, it was completely pointless to hype up about it. Now let's talk about the ring around the roses, New Year's Resolutions .      I don't know about you reader, but I hate New Year's Resolutions. Even though I have been 'semi-forced' to do it, I think Resolutions get little if not nothing done at all. It is just a small piece of paper that is probably thrown at the end of the year. Instead, I usually do a New Year's Theme. Now I do not wan...

Connecting Us (Part 1) - Let's Fly Away!

Connecting Us (Part 1) - Let's Fly Away!     Beijing to London. Challenge Accepted! If I asked you the distance between Beijing and London and how long it took to get there you to would probably say - "Um...I think around about 4,000 miles (6,400km) and probably an 8 hour flight..." And if you responded with around the same answer as I first did. You are very wrong. It is roughly around 5,000 miles (8,300km) and takes about 10.5 hours.    Isn't that insane! We live in a world where if you could have breakfast in Beijing, hop onto a flight and have a 5 hour nap before having lunch in London. Well it is all thanks to metal birds. Planes. Connecting our World - Introducing Planes    In this special series on Farren's Opinion Corner, I want to tell you more about the idea of Transportation and how new inventions have connected our world. There are a few example for this series. We will begin with Planes, huge metal birds that glides in the sky. Starting wi...

Donald Trump's Second Impeachment (Part 1)

Donald Trump's Second Impeachment (Part 1) - The Attack & The Vote      You probably knew this article was coming soon. Since this a political topic, I will try to remain as neutral as possible even though I lean towards Biden more than Trump. This is also a situation that is intensifying and brewing at the hour. So for the purpose of this article and the understanding of you the reader, this article was written on the 14th of January 2021 and publish at approximately 1830 hrs. So brace yourself please.  What is Impeachment?      Impeachment is extremely complicated and hard to understand. (To simplify, I can't be bothered to read through Article One of the United States constitution ) But I do understand at least the basics of impeachment. Here goes nothing.     The idea of Impeachment begins with Impeachment hearings by the house committee on rules and judiciary. Take them as the headmaster reviewing a bully in school. They will ...

The Novel Coronavirus: One Year On

On January the 9th, 2021, the world crossed another grim milestone. 90 Million Corona-virus cases and 2 Million corona-virus deaths. It is genuinely amazing how a small virus can shake our planet. But after around 1 year of panic and terror across the globe, there is light at the end of the tunnel (Thankfully). As of the writing of this article, around 23.86 million individuals have been vaccinated or around 0.305% of the world's population. To achieve what scientist call: Herd Immuntiy , we would need around 90-95% of the world's population to be vaccinated. That is still far fetch so for now we unfortunately just have to wait and see. A Brief History of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)     The Novel Corona-virus or to give it its scientific name, SARS-CoV-2 is a virus or disease that began first known human-to-human transmission in the Chinese City of Wuhan. It is unclear whether the virus originated from China or from some other place in the wo...
